December 20, 2002 fifty-seventh United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 57/277, which declared June 23 the UN Public Service Day to be celebrated annually. In addition, the UN urged Member States to organize on that day a special event to highlight the contribution of public service in the development process.
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit proliferation

History of drug control, or at least attempt to somehow control their turnover has been almost 100 years. In February 1909 the Shanghai Opium Commission, participated in the work which brought 13 countries tried to find ways to restrict the importation of drugs from Asian countries.
In 1987 the UN General Assembly decided to observe annually on 26 June International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of their determination to intensify efforts and cooperation in order to achieve an international community free from drug abuse. Decision was taken on Dec. 7, 1987 on the basis of recommendations of the International Conference against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 1987, which on June 26 adopted a comprehensive plan for future action against zlovzhivannnyam drugs.
International Day in Support of Victims of Torture

In 1997, upon the recommendation of the Economic and Social Council, UN General Assembly proclaimed 26 June International Day of UN pdtrimku Victims of Torture. This day is aimed at eradicating torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
