The Carpathian National Park
The Carpathian National Park was established in 1980 to protect the unique mountainous landscapes of the Ukrainian Carpathians with their peculiar florae and fauna, to create all the necessary facilities for rest and tourism, and for conducting ecological research and disseminating knowledge on nature protection. The park's climate is transitional, from the temperate warm West-European to the continental East-European. Here numerous mountain streams and rivers take their origin. Snow-capped crests, unique primeval forests, Alpine meadows, peaked cliffs, deep ravines, curative springs, roaring waterfalls and deep lakes — this is the Carpathian National Park.
