Yablunitsa - famous ski resort. In the village there is one of the main passes of the Ukrainian Carpathians - Jablunytsya. Village located 35 km from Kalush.
The name of the village probably comes from the river Yablinky. Name of local fruit trees apple was of importance to people, because it symbolizes prosperity and harvest. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1643, where there inn on the way to Hungary.
The first church in the village was built in in 1765, in 1871 was already in Yablunitse government mail, and school functioning in the village since 1875. Saved to date church of Our Lady of the Assumption 1895. Besides many interesting objects are Yablunitse, and this cross in memory of the abolition of serfdom, burial site of soldiers Carpathian Ukraine, who died in 1939. Yablunitse saved stoptsi border that marked the territory of Polish-Czech border to 1939.
Today Yablunitsa - known center of winter sports development. Directly in the village are two rope tow in the mountains Mykulynka, Dil and Goat.
