Day of State Flag of Ukraine
August 23. State Flag - one of three official state symbols that represent the sovereignty of the state. State Flag of Ukraine - a banner of two equal horizontal bands of blue and yellow with a ratio of the flag's width to its length is 2:3.
The value of blue and yellow colors on the flag is traditionally interpreted as a combination of pure, peaceful, cloudless sky, stretching over the yellow cornfields - a symbol of peace and abundance of labor.
24 July 1990, at the flagpole in front of the Kiev mayor's office was raised blue and yellow flag, consecrated in St. Sophia Cathedral Bishop Vladimir and rector of the Cathedral of Boris and Gleb Ukrainian autocephalous church father, Yuri.
State Flag of Ukraine approved the Decree of the Verkhovna Rada on January 28, 1992
In August 2004, President Leonid Kuchma signed a decree establishing the Day of State Flag of Ukraine, which will be celebrated annually on August 23. Previously, National Flag Day was celebrated only in Kiev at the municipal level.

In honor of the centuries-old history of Ukrainian state, state symbols of independent Ukraine, and to educate citizens to respect the state symbols of Ukraine
Decides and Novikov I hereby:
1. Set in the Ukraine State Flag Day, celebrated annually on August 23.
2. Cabinet of Ministers, the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Kyiv and Sevastopol city state administrations to ensure the implementation of a set of events to celebrate the Day of State Flag of Ukraine.
